We have recently accepted such a claim involving a slip in a Tesco car park.

Our client had just finished shopping and was in the car park pushing her trolley back to the trolley park with her five-month-old child in it. As she was doing this she noticed that an area of the car park was very slippery and smelled of fish or toilets. The client then slipped on the ground resulting in one of her legs going under her trolley, twisting and jerking quickly.

She reported the accident and the dangerous area to a store manager. The client then showed three/four members of staff the area where she fell in the car park. The area was then cordoned off and warning signs were put out. The client was then told that the slippery area was caused by a leak in the car parks ceiling which has a fish counter/toilets above it.

The client went to hospital who diagnosed a neck, shoulder, head, back and hip injury. The client has found looking after young family very difficult due to her ongoing injuries. She contacted us and asked for our help in making a claim for being injured in a supermarket car park.
